Legend
Find what is wrong with your door
Each line leads to a page about that one job: how it is done here, what helps while you wait, and what to tell us when you ring. The phone is answered 24 hours a day; work that can wait is booked in normal hours.
- Emergency call-outs I can’t get in, and it can’t wait The door blew shut behind you, the keys are somewhere on the beach, a key snapped in the cylinder at midnight. A person answers the phone at any hour and tells you honestly how far away the van is.
- Door opening Open it without wrecking it Bungalow doors, armoured flat doors, villa doors, storerooms and garden gates, opened through the latch or the cylinder wherever the door allows it. The drill comes out only if nothing else works, and only when you agree.
- Lock changes The lock is worn, or too many people have a key A cylinder that sticks, keys that went with a tenant or a cleaner, a mortice lock that has had its day. Booked for a time that suits you, and every old key stops working the moment the new cylinder goes in.
- New-build homes We’ve just been given the keys to a new home The cylinders a builder fitted while the site was open, the front door that has dropped out of line after its first summer, the storeroom and garage of a new block. Made yours in one visit, soon after handover.
- Sliding & aluminium doors The terrace door won’t slide or won’t lock Terrace sliders that grind on sand, hook locks that no longer catch, aluminium and uPVC doors whose multipoint will not throw. A different mechanism from the front door, with a page of its own.
- After a break-in Somebody has forced the door A forced door made to close and lock on the first visit, with a written note for the insurer. After that, if you want it, a high-security cylinder, a guard plate or a stronger lock for a house that stands empty for weeks.
- Locked car The car is locked with the keys inside Keys on the seat, in the boot or still in the ignition, and every door locked. The car is opened without damage, and that is the whole service: nothing is ever done with car keys.
- Safes The safe won’t open A keypad gone dark after months away, a code that nobody wrote down, a safe that came with a resale villa. Opened with the least damage it allows; new safes bolted where they cannot be carried off.
Sierra to sea
One municipality, three kinds of front door
Pilar de la Horadada runs from the pines at the foot of the Sierra de Escalona down to four kilometres of coast, with the AP-7 between the town and the beaches. Where you are on that slope says a lot about the door you are standing at.
-
Pinar de Campoverde and Lo Romero about 160 m
Villas built from the mid-1980s, a newer western part from the late 1990s, and small new developments beside the golf course. Some front doors may still carry their first lock.
-
The town and the countryside about 35 m
Flats and town houses round the church of the Virgen del Pilar, and country houses among the greenhouses, each called after a family: Lo Ferrer, Los Gracia, Los Sáez.
-
Mil Palmeras, La Torre and El Mojón sea level
Bungalows with a solarium, apartments in blocks with a pool, terrace sliders that meet the sand, and in El Mojón streets shared with San Pedro del Pinatar.
Every part of the municipality, the urbanizations by name and how to describe where you are: where we go.
Who calls
A town that has grown fast, and is still being built
The municipality had 6,509 residents when it broke away from Orihuela in 1986 and 24,316 at the start of 2025. In the 2022 register, four in ten residents had been born abroad, those born in the United Kingdom the largest group.
In the first nine months of 2021, Pilar de la Horadada started more new homes than any other municipality in the Vega Baja, ahead of Torrevieja and Orihuela. Buyers of those homes get a page of their own, about the cylinders a site leaves behind and the doors that move in their first summer.
For homes that have been lived in for years, the planned jobs are on the lock change page; if somebody has already tried the door, start here instead.
Terms
How every job is run
There are no customer reviews on this site, and none have been written for it. Where they will appear. Until then, these are the terms you can hold us to.
- A straight answer about the drive. An estimate for your address at that hour, never a promised number of minutes.
- The price before the work. Agreed at the door once the lock has been seen; nothing is touched until you say yes.
- The gentle way first. Latch and cylinder are tried before anything is drilled, and drilling is your decision.
- Proof, politely asked for. Whoever asks has to show the door, the car or the safe is theirs to open; if the papers are inside, they are checked once it is open.
- 22 years in the trade. More on who answers and who comes out.
The phone, WhatsApp and email, and which one suits what, are on the contact page.
Questions
What people ask on the first call
Does that include Pinar de Campoverde and the houses out in the fields?
Yes. The whole municipality: Campoverde and Lo Romero inland, the town and its barrios, the countryside houses from Los Hortelanos to Rebate, and the coast from Mil Palmeras to El Mojón. San Miguel de Salinas and Campoamor too.
Will you make me a spare key while you are here?
No. This business does not cut, copy or supply keys of any kind, and does nothing with car keys, fobs or ignitions. If a cylinder is replaced, it comes with its own keys from the maker; with cars the job is opening a locked door and nothing else.
We have just bought a new build. Should the locks be changed straight away?
It is worth doing in the first weeks. Cylinders fitted while a site is open may have been handled by several trades, and nobody can tell you how many keys went round. The new-build page explains what else is usually worth a look.
When do we agree the price, and what can I pay with?
The lock is looked at first and the price is agreed with you before any work starts. You can pay by cash, card or Bizum.
Can I deal with you entirely in English?
Yes: the call, the WhatsApp messages, the explanation of the options, the price and the invoice. Spanish too, if you prefer. No other languages are offered.
